Igniting Curioisity - Forging Connections
At Talking Sticks, we run engaging forest school sessions, helping children develop a connection with nature, themselves and each other through child-led play and explorations within the woodland.

Our Approach
In an era where screens dominate and structured learning takes precedence, Talking Sticks’ Forest School approach offers a contrast that fosters resilience, creativity and a deep connection to nature, others and self through an immersive child-led outdoor experience.
By exploring the outdoors – building dens, identifying wildlife, learning about and cooking over fire amongst other activities – children develop independence, confidence and problem solving skills beyond the traditional classroom.
At its heart, our Forest School philosophy values the whole child, igniting and then nurturing curiosity, adaptability and collaborative working, allowing them to thrive.
With justified and growing concern over childhood mental health and nature disconnection, our approach provides a vital antidote, encouraging a lifelong learning and love through hands on discovery in the natural world.

Our Sessions
Our sessions may include: tool use, shelter building, games, woodland crafts, fires...
We recognise that every child is an individual on their unique learning journey.
